For Whom the Bell Tolls

No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manner of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

Words Matter. Hate Matters.

Hey everybody, Its Reggie. I would like to thank the few who stumble on to the blog find it in your heart to look, and maybe leave a comment or two. Thank You. The video below was created by my brother Ed. If I may preface this video by saying some of us might have been taught that "sticks and stones may break our bones but names will never harm you". That is not always the case. Words reduce reality to something that the human mind can grasp. Some of the word (thoughts) are and have there own beauty and some are meant to label others for the greater good of the ego, all the fears and anxiety that is contained in them. Word carry a beauty of their own but we don't need to become imprisoned in them.

Peace,
Reggie

Eat, Pray, Love

Hey everybody. Its Reggie. The title of the book I just finished. Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert Is great! It boasts a woman search for everything as she travels across Italy, India and Indonesia. Elizabeth Gilbert in her early thirties had everything you would expect in this modern era. successful career traveling the world, husband, and a beautiful home with a country setting. but instead of feeling happy and fulfilled, she felt consumed by panic and confusion. It is the story how she left behind these outward markings, and of what she found in their place. This book has some serious stuff in it for you. For me all the bells and whistles went off. That's just what I'm trying to do, find myself. seeking purpose! This book is a great way to begin the process of self actualization. A way to get your feet wet without being a hard to understand self help text. I highly recommend this as a way to break into spirituality. It is filled with many "Ah Ha" moments. I was compelled to pick it up and I couldn't put it down. This was surly the fasted and most enjoyable read to date. As I read the text discovering nuggets of knowledge in between the written lines. Affirmations that I seen in Gilbert's work. I wrote these jewels of inspiration on post-it notes and hung them were I could read. This novel for me was another step to becoming closer to transcendence.

Just a thought IV (Awaking to the Oneness)

Hey everybody, Its Reggie. Awaking to the oneness that is within all of us is one of the greatest mysteries. In the past this exercise of enlightenment was reserved for a select few (The Secret). To ponder all of life's mysteries was a privilege. To escape the reality of the normal life and seek deeper answers from our universe. This is a beautiful time to be alive. With a wave of curious seekers more people are waking to to the idea of questioning our social, political, and religious dogma. Opening our minds to the ideologies and filling the empty space with a new found awareness. A transcendence of our own consciousness. We are living in a transformative time and those who don't awaken from their dream will die. Fear, greed and the desire for power are the psychological motivating forces not only behind warfare and violence between nations, tribes, religions and ideologies, but also the cause of incessant conflict in personal relationships. They bring about a distortion in your perception of other people and yourself. Through them, you misinterpret every situation, leading to misguided action designed to rid you of fear and satisfy your need for more. A bottomless hole that can never be filled.

Reggie

World Water Day

Hey everybody, Its Reggie. As I have opened to becoming more aware. I feel I became part of a larger source, (field of intention) not so wrapped up in my egoic mind. That my day to day existence is not the only important thing to focus all my attention on. Or focusing on the happenings of some celebrity photo hound who has again flashed her good for the paparazzi. Before you get all caught up in your weekend activities, stop for a minute, be in the minute get the bigger picture. Be in gratitude that you can freely enjoy that Poland Spring, Fiji, Deer Park, or just the plain old tap. The fact that we can turn on the faucet and magically your thirst is quenched. That is truly a miracle to behold. World Water Day, occurs each year on March 22nd, as designated by the United Nations General Assembly. This day was first proposed in 1992 and has grown significantly ever since. The UN invites its member nations to devote this day to implementing UN recommendations and promoting concrete activities within their countries. to bring awareness to this global crisis. During the week of World Water Day participating agencies will highlight issues such as:
  • More than a billion people worldwide are without safe drinking water.
  • Water related diseases are the leading cause of death in the world.
  • 40 billion hours are lost annually to hauling water, a chore primarily undertaken by women and girls.
  • Every 15 seconds a child dies from a preventable, water-related disease.

Marianne Williamson U.S. Dept of PEACE?

Hey everybody! Its Reggie. So what is the Department of Peace? The Department of Peace and Non-violence is a proposed cabinet-level department of the executive branch of the U.S. government. The original idea of a Peace Department in the United States dates back to the administration of George Washington, but has been most recently reinitiated by Rep. Dennis Kucinich's presidential campaign platform in 2004 and 2008. The Peace Alliance organization supports the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace and Non-violence. It is an independent political movement that operates autonomously. The ongoing movement is supported by Kucinich and the author and popular motivational speaker Marianne Williamson. This movement actively lobbies for the endorsements of congressional leaders. If you would like to know more about the Department of Peace. Maybe you would like to get involved in this Worldly endeavor, and maybe forge a new conversation with new hope. for something better might be waiting for whom ever is there to receive it.
